Inhertiance tax & Wealth Tax in Spain

The Spanish Government have abolished INHERITANCE TAX and back dated it to the 1st January 2008. It is down to local automous communities to bring this into force. All those controlled by the PP (conservatives) have already done this. The ones controlled by the PSOE (labour) are dragging their heels. Of course Andalucia = PSOE It is only a matter of a short time before they must act and if you are going to die in the meantime go to Madrid (one of the PP areas)

With regard to the wealth tax I can definately confirm that it has been abolished with nothing to pay after the 2007 year which is paid this year.

CGT for Swedish property owners in Spain

Did you know that the new conservative government in in Sweden has plans to scrap the CGT charged on overseas property sales by Sewdish nationals.

What effect will this have on sales, listings and prices for Swedish owned properties?
