...I've opted for patterns for this spring.
Even the grand dame of fashion journalism, Suzy Menkes
believes that there's just a lot of blossoming floral patterns for this
spring. From Balenciaga, Stella McCartney, Missoni to Rodarte, Prada
and Cavalli. Just too much, I'm having an allergy right now and I'd
rather happily put my printed frocks splashed with different colours
which is a must, must, must this season.
I love specifically the
crazy but elegant patterns from Dries Van Noten (left), Vera Wang,
Chaiken, Badgley Mischka and Pollini which is totally different from
the religious use (or mis-use) of flowers whenever spring season comes
along.
"There
were so many flowery, sweet-tooth patterns, from hibiscus to rose, in
the new season’s clothes that even I — raised on the herbaceous
prettiness of an English country garden — longed to reduce the sugar
quotient." ---Suzy Menkes on This year's Spring Collection.
We
all know it's spring and we don't have to be reminded of flowers same
as in the summer, we don't have to be reminded of the sun.
