Four years ago Madrid just missed out on hosting the 2012 Olympics but the city has not given up. Yesterday in Athens the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that Spain’s capital was picked as one of the candidates for the 2016 event, along with Tokyo, Chicago and Rio de Janeiro. The final decision will be made in October 2009 after the four projects have been studied. Good luck to Spain.
