The story is on the website but very briefly, the man who is doing this solo unassisted ride from Alton in Hampshire to Antequera is called Les Causton. In July 2006, he had a heart attack which was a bolt out of the blue for him as he has always been a very healthy man and cycled long distance. He required assistance from the Cardiac Care unit to rehabiltate him back to full fitness. Also, several personal friends of him and his wife have suffered from *** cancer, one of them sadly losing her battle against the disease.
After this, Les decided to organise a long bike ride to raise money for several charities- *** Cancer Care, Cardiac Rehab and the Spanish Cancer charity AECC.
