It is with regret that we have had to declare the 500 Euro competition void due to alarming trends with certain members referred friends. As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, we had noticed that an alarming number of sign ups generated by certain individuals have simply signed up as a member, not added anything to their profile and never logged back in again. We tracked this closely and the statistics just didn't change, more and more of these 'inactive' sign ups occured and the existing one's never came and logged back in.

We scanned through the leaderboard and the only realistic winner with genuine, active sign ups would have been Marbella_Rich, but as he is a member of our team and YourMarbella's Co-Founder, we obviously cannot award the prize to him (Sorry Rich !).

In our true community spirit, we are already trying to think of another competition that we can run in November, which will hopefully not be exposed to foul play. Naturally, we will roll over the 500 Euro into this competition.

Christians post was not aimed at any individual.  Only we have access to the backend data and unfortunately we've had to exercise our right to close this competition at this stage.  We had similar abuse in the popular profile competitions where we were getting a lot of signups voting and never returning.  They also had similar email adresses on each vote and had to be removed therefore affecting the outcome.

Similar is happening here, we cannot proceed with this competition and thats not good for anyone involved.  Perhaps in the future we'll lower the prize money to discourage this behaviour.

How about a "Most popular dog" competition? Or, "Best looking dog" or "Dog with the nicest eyes"?
