Does anyone play basketball around Marbella?  I'm interested in getting back involved after ten years without playing but I've not seen anywhere...

I have just started playing Basketball again out here, nothing serious just a couple of guys playing. Its tough trying to get a group together.

 

Im looking for guys that would be interested in playing regularly or even better if there is a team that would be great!

If your in Marbella then there are courts near the copper tower between marbella central and the Guadalpin. You take the turning North, away from the sea, and up the hill. Past the traffic lights and then its on the right. About 1 min in the car.

fantastic news. I'll be back in town in a couple of weeks, would be great to meet up and go from there. I'm pretty sure YM is a good place to recruit people, I have a couple of friends who I think would be up for it too...

Sounds good - I have made it up to the courts a few times this week and made pals with some descent Spanish and French Guys too. So the numbers look a little better. Definitely between us we can get some good games going. Now I just need to quit smoking, get fit, practice...... oh and a Lung transplan could speed things along ;-)

Hey guys - Nice to see interest gaining some momentum!

 I have started going down after work around 4.30ish. However this is me going to shoot hoops and just hook up with anyone thats around. I realise that most people though work less sociable hours ;-) So evenings are better. Once we have enough people, and I think that we are close then we can book the courts - its free but at night you pay for the lights which is reasonable (less than €10) for an hour. ONce we know who is in then we can arrange a weekly Basketball night or just when everyone is up for it. Anyone with interest if you can mail me with what times you can play from and on what days then I will find the best night for us all!

Hi Rich!

There is great basketball in the Poli Deportivo Paco Cantos.

This is how you get there:

If you come from Elviria and drive through Marbella, almost when you get to the golden mile, you get to the Marbella Congress Center (opposite is the Corte d'Ingles furniture store).

Just before you get there, take the right and go uphill (passing Mac Anthony Real estate office).

Crossthe traffic lights and go straight.

Then take the first small road to the right.

There is a sports ground with basketball, football and tennis.

Every Saturday and Sunday lots of people meet to play 1 on1 but also teams.

It´s an awesome place.

Costs nothing.

Hey Fab... is that the same place as the picnic / BBQ grounds?   And would those of us that really aren't all that great (and haven't played for years) but enjoy playing still enjoy it?

Hey guys, there is now a basketball group so add yourself there if your interested in playing.
