    Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations of which bank to use as an ex-pat looking for a mortgage in Spain?

RBS Gibraltar are pretty good.  Right now is not the best time to borrow money but RBS still seem keen to lend on property.

Might still rent for a while then and see what happens in six months time. The sale on my place here should complete in the next four weeks and there seems to be no shortage of rentals available.

I just watched a damning TV report on the state of the UK house prices, seems a good time to be jumping ship !

    Hi Christian,

I got a good deal with Solbank in 2001, 10 year mortgage fixed rate of 5.5% for the full term of the mortgage.

so much so that I am in a postion to pay it off this year, instead of 2011. I am also with you on the state of the UK, but will wait a while because I think property prices will drop a lot more!!!! mind you only buy to rent, not to move back to UK PLC. no no no!!!!

We are also looking at France for a second home, still some bargins to be had in South western France.

    Keep The Faith

    Regards
