    Mobile phone shop Marbella

I'm looking to get a Spanish mobile on a contract. Are there any good phone shops locally with English speaking support?  I've been using my UK mobile for 8 months but I really need to get a Spanish number now..!

    Rich,

I just bought a blackberry (vodafone contract) from Bonovac/Top Digital in Centro Comercial Plaza, Nueva Andalucia, all the staff speak good english and you will get good service/support.

    Hi Rich,

There are two vodaphone shops on the main drag in Marbella, the one at the entrance to the old town is normally pretty good, there are members of staff who speak english and you can get through to english speaking support staff at vodaphone ES as well.

Be careful not to go to the smaller of the two vodaphone stores, there is only one woman in that one and she does not like having to speak english to the clients and says they should speak Spanish.

i have had a mobile on pay as you go with Vodaphone and have no problems.

there are some good deals for ringing the UK using Mi Pais and choosing the UK as your country, however calls are barred if you bring the phone back to the UK.

    Good luck.

    Re: Mobile phone shop Marbella

I am struggling to be honest.  I want the Nokia e90 and I assumed I could just walk into any shop, like in England and say, E90 + contract please.  At which point they'd charge me about 150 quid for the phone and sign me up for 18 months.  First of all finding the phone was hard enough.  I guess the market for business phones here is smaller than the UK...  Secondly when I did find it, in El corte Ingles, the Nokia stand and the Vodafone stand which are side by side work completely independent of each other...

This basically means I have to pay €850 for the handset, then get a contract with a Fisher-Price phone separately.  I've now decided to take out a new contract in the UK (I still need a UK number for travelling back) and use a Spanish sim when I'm here.  This way I get the phone cheap and and can still use it with the local networks.

It seems like the best value way to go..

    Re: Mobile phone shop Marbella

Just got a contract with Vodafone from The Phone house opposite El Corte Ingles P. Banus.

The guys there are really seriously utterly sh1t!

This Miguel jr. and Miguel manager are as bad as each other. Waited almost the enitre day for them (back and forth to make sure they are actively working on my contract..) to activate my line. Initially waited one hour with this Miguel Jr. to continuously type info into computer and get it wrong. Then waited 30min before he told me that he was trying to check if the contract was activated (could have told me to come back...). He also wanted me to sign the papers, attached to it was a contract for insurance for the phone... now I didn't ask for that! But he kept banging on afterwards about how cheap it is! Oh, he also wanted to put me on the EUR116 contract because I said I spend at least EUR200 per month INTERNATIONAL calls.... the expensive contract is good for only local calls!

So after 5 hours, went back to the shop and Miguel manager was dealing with me - he proceeded to hand me a different phone. Found the correct one and wanted me to sign the papers - but as I checked, noted that it was a different number to one I have chosen initial....! But as Vodafone has, after 5 hours, activated this number, I gave in.

All in all, I will never wish for anyone to deal with them or recommend them!

Got an E65 and its a great phone! E90 can't be all bad considering I love my 6300 too!

    Re: Mobile phone shop Marbella

Sorry about your experince Eric, I have had a phone with them for 8 years now, and have never had any problems, in fact they were pretty helpful.............

When I first came here I was a holiday rep, so had a company phone, so only wanted a pay as you go, 8 years ago, Movistar was the best option, so they helped me there...........then when vodafone became popular they helped me change, keeping my number etc.........then when I owned the bar, they recommended the autonomas option, which is excellent, and helped me change to a Vodafone contract...............with Vodafone you accumilate points and they are also very helpful when I have been in to update my phone using the points.....................
