    Language schools...

Hi, I am thinking of moving to Marbella in January and want to know more on language schools as i'd like to learn Spanish. I have looked at schools such as Estudio Hispanico, Enforex etc and would like to know if anybody has been to or is going to these schools? Any info would be of great help! Thanks x

    Re: Language schools...

I went to Enforex a few years ago - highly recommend it, especially for the socialising point of view - lots of partying and drunkeness.  Most people are aged 18 - 23 - with a few older ones like myself!! but I still managed to keep up with the younger ones!!!  There are people from all countries - mainly scandinavians, english, irish, american and german - get the odd eastern european and russian.

Generally life consists of school in the morning (if you can be bothered), then straight to the beach (from april onwards), head home around 6, relax and decide what the plan is for the night, then either hit Party Banus or a night in the old town in Marbella!! and repeat!! it's a hard lifeSmile

As for the actual learning side of things - school is good, small size classes and the teachers are young and friendly, no real pressure to go to school if you don't feel like it - hungover etc!!

I would recommend getting a shared self catering apartment, unless you really really wanna study hard - then try and stay with a family - but can be a bit if a gamble - can end up being in a apartment with an old spanish lady who is only interested in receiving rent money rather than helping you improve your Spanish.

Hope you find my advice worthy!!

That is quite helpful actually, Enforex is one of the language schools I was thinking of enrolling in for a few weeks this summer.

What time are the classes? I read somewhere that it is 9:30 to 1:30pm, is that true?

When I was there classes were 10.00 to 2.00pm, with a few coffee, cigarette breaks in between.

    Hi,

I attended a language school in Marbella with Nacel, a very good organization specialized in linguistic travels. The school was nice and the teachers too! It was a very good experience that I recommend for everyone wishing to improve his /her linguistic skills in Spanish while making several activities and having fun!

I checked and I found the link of the program I attended. I hope it can help some of you...

Bye, and have a good trip Wink

How long did you stay at the school for? did you learn a good level of spanish? im thinking of going for about 3 months just to settle in and everything and i wanna learn spanish real bad, but is it easy to just stay in spain after that and work and find places to live or is it not just that simple?...

    Re: Language schools...

    Hi

No it s no a school from Enforex but from NACEL I just wrote it!!!I think that Nacel is cheaper than Enforex. I stayed 6 weeks there in a host family it was a very nice experience...

Yes I learnt a lot, I can express well, communicate and write without any difficulties but I studied Spanish for 2 years before my stay.  I think that I could be able to work there but I preferred to go back to France because of my boyfriend! I think that if you speak Spanish quite well and as you are fluent in English you should not have a lots of difficulties to work, then it depend of the kind of work you are looking for.

    Re: Language schools...

So just to confirm then - although you booked it thru' NACEL you still attended a language school owned by Enforex? - Avenida Ricardo Soriano 43??

I was not advising her to book thru' Enforex but just pointing out that the school is Enforex owned.   Alot of the online language school providers will use the Enforex school in Marbella!

    Re: Language schools...

Not one to prove a point or anything!! - but I took it upon myself to email Nacel to confirm whether or not the school they use in Marbella is in fact an Enforex School - and here is the reply - Nothing more to say!

    Dear Steve,

Thanks for your email. I do confirm that this school is an Enforex School. As a leading Language Courses Agent, Nacel benefits from particular conditions with this school that permits us to propose the programs you saw on our website : http://www.nacel.org/cdlp/Language-Schools/Spain/Spanish-SPMAR.php

For which dates are you interested in learning Spanish in Marbella ?

    Kind regards,
