From domain registration to Number 1 on Google in 3 days

Okay, here is one for any of those people that think the sandbox is real. (just like the bogeyman I guess)

I registered a brand new domain on Sunday (3 days ago).

I spent 3 hours putting together a web site.

Manually submitted the site to google using their addurl process.

This site does not have any robots.txt, no site map, no jiggery pokery of any kind.

    Now today.........

When I search google.com and have my settings set to: "search the web" -  its in 8th position for the term "Jobs in Marbella" (which is actually a decent term because there are 4 sponsored ads down the right)

When I search google.co.uk and have my setting set to: "pages from the UK" - its in 1st position for the term "Jobs in Marbella" (which is actually a decent term because there are 8 sponsored ads down the right)

    Sweet!

    The site is www.jobsinmarbella.com

I also have some screen shots of the google results pages on my web site here:

    You are kidding me!!

I actually do believe in the sandbox but for obviously for some categories of site it doesn't apply.  That said I never use the add url process in Google, I always obtain a couple of links to get the site noticed ont he basis that Google has always preffered to find sites as opposed to being shown them.  That said the manual process seems to have worked for you, I wonder if you suddenly got 10 links into that site whether you would dissapear for a while or whether now you are ranking, you're okay.

YourMarbella never got sandboxed, I'm thinking its category specific...

Of course domain matching to your search term is always going to give good results!

We threw a boat sales site together using 1&1 a while back, just using their sitebuilder within a few days we were organically ranking page 1 and a month later we're ranking #1 for "fairline boat sales spain", "sunseeker boat sales spain", etc and #2 for boat sales spain! On the other hand no matter what we try we cant' get some of our sites to the top even in non competitive markets

Sometimes Google makes no sense at all!

    I know!

I did the same thing with a couple of sites the other week too.

Registered the domain names, whacked up a site and within 10 days it was listed and ranking on the first page of google. I told the client it would be 3 months before he sees any results. Happy Days!

I just wanted to see how quick it actually was going to work this time, so I thought on Sunday I would test it and hey...3 days...not bad. Could be a record?

    Smile
