    Trackdays

Kind of a tiny plug but more a genuine interest post..

Have started helping out for a new company that has been created down here to provide car circuit days for people that like to drive fast in a safer environment than the N340 ! I used to work in this industry back in the UK and so since moving out here I've been craving to start driving on track again and fortunately found someone that does it

If there are any car enthusiasts out there that fancy a great day out to talk about sticky tyres, brake upgrades and Ferraris latest offerings as well as the opportunity to take your own car out or maybe hire out a Gallardo, 456 and Civic Type R then drop me an email as it would be great to meet up with likeminded people !

It's probably a bit late to come to the launch day (Friday 27th) but we're planning another day for the beginning of September !

At the moment we're using Guadix (about a 2 hour drive from down here) but are talking to Jerez, Jarama, Ascari and a few others so will have a nice selection. The CSL would be perfect Yes

The website is www.trackdaysspain.com which is in it's early days still but it's getting there, it will list all the upcoming events but will keep in touch

    Hi there,

Any thoughts on Karting Days, my 7 year old is fed up with Funny Beach and seeking more time, speed and experience ?

    Cheers

    Re: Trackdays

If you provide the karts then I suppose something could be sorted but to be honest it's a whole new separate business

Pics and videos of the launch event are up on the site and the next date is Friday 7th September, day went superbly well and far too much track time was had by everyone !

    I'm up for karting!

Track days are great. But for those of us with a normal car and €250 not burning a hole in our pocket its a dream.

Campanillas has a great track for karting, i seem to remember it was 45 euros for 2 15 min heats. Plenty of time for thrils and spills.

Sounds good stuff and something I will keep a close eye on and most likely attend so yeah locals speak up!

That Guadix track has a dissapointing straight looking at the video, maybe its decieving but diesnt seem capable of allowing anything to hit top speed. Was that the full circuit or was it shortened after the end of the pit straight?

Some of the Karting places wanna hold events so you can race for half hour or something, I find it frustrating driving 'anything' for poxy ten minutes or so.

Anyone see the cannonball run thing? Always wanted to do the Gumball rally but this one is about a tenth of the price (and you still get to race around Hockenheim!)

Very few circuits (if any) would allow a car to hit top speed on the straights, in the UK we used places like Elvington & Bruntingthorpe airfield which have hugely long runways to achive Vmax on road cars. Trackdays are about learning how to drive effectively and quickly not about "how fast my car can go" so if that's your thing then maybe they're not for you.

The fastest thing around a track is never the fastest thing along the toll road ;)
