I've got a query about a car which i may be purchasing privately, im not familiar with the system in spain- so can anyone help with any of the below!
 
My questions are, what paperwork/information do you need to transfer ownership of a car? (already spanish registered), and what costs would be involved?
 
There are 2 issues i can see-
 
-The ITV expired in 2005, and i will only be able to obtain an itv once certain items are repaired on the car.
-I am not resident in spain, i only have an NIE number......and a British License

-Whats a 'padron' and is it difficult to get (a day of queing?)

If i need to have an ITV before transfer, is there any way i can gaurentee the owner isnt suddenly going to claim the car back once the nessecary work is carried out? (very critical to me)
 
The car is a 1991 Mercedes (new price approx £35,000/50,000 euros ish)......any ideas what the transfer tax would be on it, and the overall costs of the transfer (inc. ITV+ perhaps 2 years back taxes).
 
Any help would be greatly appreciated- as it may well affect my decision to buy, but i have to move very fast.
