Hen weekend - restaurants, bars, beaches??

    Hello,

Im coming to Marbella beginning of May for a hen weekend and me and my friends (7 of us - late 20's) are looking for some ideas of where to go, eat, drink, sunbath (if its warm enough!).

We are having one main 'Hen' night on the saturday but we have the friday and sunday daytimes and evenings to occupy ourselves so Im looking for ideas from those of you who know the area well - all of us coming on this weekend havent been there before!!

We are staying in Puerta Banus in an apartment so we plan to stay around that area so, I have the following questions.......

    - are there any extra nice beaches - we're wanting nice loungers and a beach bar - we've heard good things about Nikki Beach....?

    - Restaurants, Good food and somewhere that has an outside terrace if its warm enough with spanish or international cuisine for the friday night and then ideas for sunday early evening before we fly home

    - Bars, clubs on friday and saturday nights  - somewhere that does good cocktails, isnt too pricey or tacky and we can have a dance in.

Any ideas that you have would be most welcome,

    Thanks

    Sal x

    Hi Sal,

    In answer to your questions:

Extra nice beaches - yep Nikki Beach http://www.yourmarbella.com/NikkiBeachMarbella/default.aspx is certainly worth a visit although it will require a 15/20 min taxi ride from Puerto Banus. They are also kicking off the start of the summer with their first Amazing Sunday event on Sunday 4th May starting at 2pm and features live music, dancers, performers and DJ's.They do great food too so if you're flying home Sunday evening could be worth a full day down there and food as well!

Ocean Club is also a great place to go and relax on some huge beds with a great pool right on the beach front. They are having their grand opening party on Friday May 2nd at 7pm where everyone is required to wear white and silver only. Take a look at these pics that were taken there on 12th May last year http://www.yourmarbella.com/snaparazzi/Ocean_Club/12May07/event.aspx. Will also give you a bit of an idea as to what the weather was like too!

Regarding restaurants, if you're looking for true Spanish cuisine you have to try La Taberna Del Pintxo's http://www.yourmarbella.com/TabernaDelPinxto/default.aspx. It's a fantastic tapas bar situated just opposite the entrance to El Corte Ingles. It's very traditional, you sit outside order a bottle of wine of 2 and the waiters come round with plates of warm tapas. You collect the cocktail sticks that are placed in the food and at the end of the night the waiter counts them all up and you pay depending on how much you ate, simple!

As for bars and clubs, a good place to start is Sinatras http://www.yourmarbella.com/sinatrasbar/default.aspx at the start of the Port as this is where everyone meets at the beginning of the evening. From their I'd recommend News Cafe just a few bars down and then maybe head to the 2nd line where you'll find Linekers Bar (they do special nights for Hen Parties) and a great nightclub called Seven http://www.yourmarbella.com/sevenbarandclub/default.aspx which is definately worth a visit.

Hope this helps. This is just my opinion though Wink

I would recommend Zoo Lounge above the 2nd line for some drinks before you hit the clubs, very reasonable prices for the port, nice relaxed atmosphere and as the evening wears on you can enjoy some quality music to get you moving.

Have to agree about Nikki and Ocean, although if you haven't been here before then Ocean is probably better as it is in Banus and not a taxi ride away like Nikki Beach.

As for food I would always recommend Alfredo's www.yourmarbella.com/restaurantealfredo/default.aspx  in San Pedro, gorgeous food, dirt cheap compared to some places and very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
