Manah Art
Original Silkscreen Prints since 1978.
Our work consists in the design and making of series of generally 200 or 300 original prints, and what makes our work special is that each individual picture in the series is an original piece and not a reproduction of a finished piece.
Each work is a result of a guideline which is no more than a drawing made in pencil (the "original"), which gives the artist a basic idea of the shape and colour that the finished artwork will take. Where the colours are going to change or maybe fade into each other, which ones are going to mix, how many are going to be used and how many shades will result from this is only clear due to the imagination and forethought of the artist... But nothing is absolutely clear until the whole series is printed and finished! Every part of the process is absolutely manual, and therefore each piece keeps its full artistic value in every exemplar.
Each colour is printed separately, and we generally use between 7 and 10 depending on the design, the amount of detail involved, etc. Each colour is drawn manually onto the transparent plates with opaque ink, and this drawing is transferred onto the prepared silkscreen through a photosensitive process. After the first colour is printed, the second colour is prepared, and this goes on until the work is considered finished.
The works are then numberedand signed, using the official method: From left to right, the information below the print is: The title, the amount of colours used in the print, the serial number to the size of the series and the signature: Manah (Marmentini + Nádor, after the artists Judit Nádor and Rodrigo Marmentini)
Judit Nádor is a Hungarian artist who has been based in Spain for more than 20 years, and has been involved in several projects, both for Manah Art and more personal ones as well.
Rodrigo Marmentini is specialized in the photographic process that is involved in the silkscreen printing tecnique, and also salesperson in the Puerto Banus area.
Zoe Marmentini Nádor, responsible for this website, has finished her degree in Art in 2005 and is working on projects for Manah Art. She is also involved in the local artistic scene and has exhibited her more personal works in various occasions.
Behind each work lies a great quantity of research over the chosen subject; the series of the star signs is particularly full of information, which is both fascinating to appreciate and visually exciting.
